Olives kindergarten students get new classrooms

January 2012 is the start of the academic year in Kenya. This is the first year that Olives Rehabilitation Centre have a standard 8 class. The final year in a Kenya primary school.

Due to lack of space and no more classrooms, Olives were stuck for what to do about accommodating this extra class.

It was decided that from the donations they were saving for land, they would invest a part of this to build extra classrooms, right next to the Olives church, down the road from Olives Rehabilitation Centre. This would house KG 1 to 3.

As you can see the classrooms are adequate and the students love them.

It is actually a lot more calmer and quieter now, walking into Olives (well only during lesson time).
However if you missed the noise and chaos that kindergarten created, you can see from the photos that they love visitors and will run, jump, shout to get your attention.
I am in complete admiration for the local KG teachers who can last all day teaching these very hyperactive but of course, adorable little ones.
