The walk home..........

Precious Vision Students loving playtime with bubbles

No matter how stressful and insane your day may have been, nothing quite sets you back in the zone like the walk home from school. For a solid thirty minutes there is nothing to worry about; kids that drove you nuts at school are now holding on to your hand and telling you about themselves. It is humbling knowing that they trust you enough to tell you personal things, like who is part of their family, things that worry them and funny little things like if they have a crush on anyone. They enjoy telling you and I love having that connection with them.

Setting off on the walk home........

As the children walk us home, or we walk them home, whichever it seems to be, we can all just take comfort in walking the long walk together. It is almost like a mini adventure each time.

Days when it floods we need to take detours and the kids know all the little paths through the villages... and at the same time it is pretty cool getting a peak inside where they live and the culture they are growing up in.

More like a lake than a puddle!!

Along with the school children we also rally quite a following of local village kids, which is awesome too!! It might just be the best part of my day when these children come running up to you yelling “How ah youuu?! How ah youuu!?” Nothing tops them trying their hardest to speak English and grab your hand to walk you along.

Children join the home parade

Some have other methods of getting home!!

Nothing beats getting walked home...
