Introducing.... STANDARD EIGHT!
A ten year dream for Olives Rehabilitation Centre has been realised thanks to the dedicated staff team and GVI volunteer donations. Extra classes have been built for the "baby" classes, meaning the school has the space to retain Standard 8. This is significant because it means the students are able to gain their KPCE for the first time at the school, the minimum certification required to gain employment in Kenya. The principle of ORC, Mike, told me today that this is “truly a dream realised”. The students are all excited to meet the incoming GVI volunteers of 2012, so let’s go, there's lots to be done! I look forward to meeting to you all.
