Olives get free eye tests

A local optician and his assistant came to Olives last week and tested the children for free.

They managed to see every child, that's around 350! Some of the children are too young for the normal letter eye charts so they used symbols and shapes.

They cover one eye and point to the direction of the symbol and then the other. Then they lined up and in turn each child had their eyes checked by the Optician.

The outcome was that some received eye drops for infections, and many were noted for further treatments.

Some are even going to receive glasses. All for free, thanks to donations through GVI Charitable Trust.

I was delighted to be a part of it.

Here's Omari with the glasses he received
