Musical Phonics!

Phonics session with Standard 2 had a musical element this week.  GVI introduced our resident guitarist (I use the word ‘guitarist loosely’) to assist in the learning of the lesson.  Phonics which are taught within both Olives and Precious is crucial to help the younger standards  grasp the English language via decoding words, whilst also giving the teachers  a better understanding of how the written system of language was developed.

Having a guitar helped the children get involved and made created a really good atmosphere, with even some of the Kenyan teachers participating!
